What it is for, who it suits
In the rainy season — Kenya's “long rains” in April-May, Botswana's green season from November to April, the Sri Lankan monsoon — showers come fast and hard, often in the afternoon, just when you are walking from a viewpoint back to the car or between camps. A rain cover protects your day pack and what is inside without having to wrap everything.
This one is nylon with a silver coating on the inside; an elastic edge holds it tight around the bag so the wind does not take it. Folded, it fits in a side pocket. Three colours: black, orange (easy to spot at the side of a track) or navy.
Honest limits: the supplier gives neither the bag capacity it fits nor the cover's dimensions, and its listing states a water resistance in an inconsistent unit, which we do not repeat. It keeps rain off, not immersion: for a passport or a camera on a boat, a dry bag is safer.

What size of backpack does it fit?
The supplier does not say. The photos show it on a medium hiking backpack; the elastic edge adjusts, but we cannot guarantee it covers a large trekking pack.
Is it waterproof?
It stops rain. It is not made for immersion: the seams and the open back let water in if the bag sits in a puddle.
