Data we collect

The site requires no account and sets no advertising cookies. The only personal data processed is what the purchase requires: email address and billing information, collected and processed by Stripe at payment, plus whatever you volunteer through our email sign-up forms (see below). If you write to us, your email is used solely to reply.

Travel tips by email and free excerpt

Some pages offer to send you our travel tips and offers by email, in exchange notably for a free excerpt from our guides. Signing up requires your email address (first name optional) and an explicit consent checkbox, never pre-ticked. We store your address, the date, the exact consent wording displayed and the page of origin, in a database we operate on a server hosted in the European Union. Your IP address is never stored in clear form.

This data is used exclusively to send you our tips and offers; it is neither sold nor shared (the partner referral described below is a separate form). You can unsubscribe at any time by writing to admin@tech-bharat.com (or via the unsubscribe link in our emails): your address is then deleted from the database.

Referral to partner professionals

The “Would you rather go through a professional?” form (the Find a professional page and the end of some pages) is used to put you in touch with partner professionals: travel agencies and local ground operators, equipped 4x4 rental companies, guides and guided-tour operators, depending on the need you choose. We collect your first name, your last name if given, your email address, your phone number if given, and the description of your trip (country, dates, number of travellers, budget in mind, timing, details), together with the date, the page of origin and the exact consent wording displayed.

Legal basis: your consent, given through a separate checkbox that is never pre-ticked. Recipients: up to 3 partner professionals in the category stated in the consent sentence, who may contact you by phone or email about your request. Retention: at most 3 years from the request, unless you make a new one. You can withdraw your consent and ask for your data to be deleted at any time by writing to admin@tech-bharat.com. This data is not used for our travel-tips emails.

Payment

Payments are operated by Stripe Payments Europe, Ltd., PCI DSS certified. No banking data passes through or is stored on our servers. Stripe's policy: stripe.com/privacy.

1-click purchase (fx1c cookie)

After a first purchase of a guide, kit or bundle, the site sets an fx1c cookie (HttpOnly, secure) that only holds your Stripe customer ID, signed so it cannot be forged. Its sole purpose is to offer 1-click purchase with the card Stripe keeps: the site only shows its brand and last 4 digits and stores no card data. Duration: 13 months. Legal basis: performance of the contract (cookie needed for the service you ask for). You can delete it from your browser and ask at any time for the saved card to be deleted at Stripe at admin@tech-bharat.com.

Shop orders (physical products)

For a shop order, Stripe Checkout collects your name, email address, delivery address and payment details (the latter are never passed to us). We receive the name, email, delivery address and order details to fulfil the order, send the confirmation and tracking, and handle a return or complaint. The name, delivery address, phone number if entered and parcel contents are passed to our logistics provider (CJ Dropshipping, which ships from its warehouses, including outside the European Union) and to the carrier, solely to prepare, ship and deliver the parcel. The cart itself is kept in your browser (local storage), with no cookie and nothing sent before payment.

Purposes and retention

Purchase data is used to deliver the product, manage the refund guarantee and meet our accounting obligations: invoices and order records are kept for 10 years (Article L123-22 of the French Commercial Code); other order data is kept for the duration of the statutory guarantee, then deleted. It is neither sold nor shared for advertising purposes.

Your rights

Under the GDPR you have rights of access, rectification, erasure, restriction and objection over your data. To exercise them, write to admin@tech-bharat.com. You may also lodge a complaint with the CNIL (cnil.fr).

Analytics (Google Analytics 4) and cookies

Since 5 October 2026, we use Google Analytics 4 (Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland) to measure site traffic and sales (page views, viewing an offer, adding to cart, clicking through to payment, confirmed purchase),only if you agree in the banner shown on your first visit. Until you accept, no Google script is loaded and no analytics cookie is set; “Decline” is as easy as “Accept”. Legal basis: your consent. GA4 does not store IP addresses. Google Analytics cookies (_ga, _ga_*) last up to 13 months; your choice is kept for 6 months in your browser. You can withdraw your consent at any time with the “Manage cookies” link at the bottom of every page. No advertising cookies.
