What it is for, who it suits
At campsites in Namibia or Botswana, night falls fast and there is often no light at your pitch. Cooking, pitching the rooftop tent, finding the ablution block, changing a wheel on the roadside: all with your hands busy. It is the item people most regret forgetting.
This headlamp lights through a COB strip that wraps around the forehead: wide, even light, ideal for close-up tasks without harsh shadows. A more focused central LED lets you look further. The motion sensor switches it on or off with a wave in front of the lamp, handy with greasy or gloved hands. The 1,500 mAh battery is built in and charges over USB-C, in the car during the day; the cable is included. The supplier states 1,000 lumens for the main light and 500 for the auxiliary.
Limits: the battery cannot be replaced, so charge it every day. The supplier gives neither run time nor water resistance rating: do not rely on it in heavy rain.
