What it is for, who it suits
In the cabin. Most rental cars have a single accessible lighter socket. The day you need a compressor, an electric cool box or a camera charger, the phone-GPS stays unplugged and dies at the worst moment.
What it changes. The socket is doubled: a 12 V device on the female socket, two USB devices on the ports, at once.
